As I write this, the screen continues to fill with individuals whose needs are increasingly impossible to satisfy. Is this our fate as a species? Despite the fact that time and space continue to compress thanks to technological advancement, are we destined to remain strangers? Even the magic of mythical beings, once worshipped for their omnipotence, isn't enough to stand against our loneliness and fear of vulnerability. We watch helplessly as the names pile on, as the prayers go unanswered, as they swarm into a growing monument to human weakness.
Anyway, I think the concept is pretty strong. Others have mentioned possible UI and UX improvements, so I won't harp on about them for too long, but I agree that the game could benefit from some visual improvements that provide a bit more clarity and guidance amidst the chaos (color-coding personality types would be a great help). I appreciate all of the possible activities that the characters can do, but they admittedly get lost amidst all of the mixing and matching. One element I'll certainly praise is the tutorial. Considering how crazy things can get in this game and how unique the system is, it's nice to have a safe space to figure out the controls and see how things play out between characters. It's clear that a lot of thought went into this one, and I'd love to see how it could be expanded upon in potential iterations. Nice work!
Interesting concept. I think the game could benefit from added visual clarity, it was a bit hard to see the text. Additionally, I wished I could use mouse at the corners of the screen to move the camera, especially since I already use the mouse to move the tiles.
Really good concept, I think this is a lovely game. The direction is a little bit confusing and it is kind of hard to use the cam moving function because it moves too slow. One suggestion is that maybe when the player put the mouse at the edge of the camera it will also move the cam. Also, I think the speed of spawning the files is too fast, and it could be a little overwhelming because of all the text, so maybe you can slow it down a little bit and make the pace goes slower. Overall I really like this game!
This is awesome, I love the concept and how clean and simple the visuals are. The log is such a cool way of watching the relationships progress - it makes you feel like the characters are much more real than if they were just a static profile! I found that I was having some issues unselecting files after a connection was created. Sometimes I would right click and it seemed like nothing would happen. If you continue to work on this, having a feature where you can zoom in and out might be helpful, as I found that profiles would spawn outside of my view and I just wouldn’t realize there was anything there. The overlapping text makes things spiral out of control really fast, since there’s a certain point where things become unreadable, which you can’t really come back from, although I do like how chaotic the screen gets. I agree that it would be nice for WASD to move around faster as well. That’s pretty much it, my criticism is mostly just clarity and user experience stuff. Very solid design and again really amazing idea!!
Very intersting concept; I like viewing emotions(love in this case) as statstics, it is a statement about the world we live in today. The fun part of the game is to see what is the most efficient way of matching all the people on the screen. To take the game to the next level, I would suggest making the background into a desk and the cards into pieces of paper; it would really simulate the exprience of an intern.
I really, really love this game. The concept, the low-key visuals, the little log readings, it's all really wonderful! I kind of wish new cards all appeared in one place, or even just a contained section that you could go to if you were ready for a new person. I also wish that the scroll speed was higher when you press WASD, but other than that I don't really have any complaints, this was a ton of fun!
This is really a great idea and I can see how you could go deeper into a self-generating text game. The only thing is that, I found that there were a lot more profiles tagged with video game than other hobbies. I was struggling to find a matching one for the reading profile, so maybe a more balanced pool of profiles would be better. And also the black outline merges when two profiles stack on each other.Anyway, nice work! Enjoyed it!
